Our Crew

Tim Dooley, Lawn Team Crew Leader

If you ask him what he does for a living, Tim sums up his job concisely, "I beautify yards and watch them transform." Inspired to pursue horticulture because of his love of the great outdoors and enjoyment of physical work, Tim says smelling the roses is among his favorite parts of the job, along with the good benefits and great staff.

Lee Hoganson, Garden Team Crew Leader

Lee's eclectic background includes studying music at The Musicians Institute of Minneapolis and University of Minnesota. Today, when he's not helping beautify our community through artful gardening, he's an active musician who enjoys performing with local groups. And Lee's love of his work even translates into how he spends his time off. When asked what he does with his free time he includes "working in my own garden" on the list.

Kelly Lohuis, Crew

Whether he's gardening, hiking, swimming, camping, or skateboarding, you can usually find Kelly outside. He says the best part about his job is knowing that he's making a difference in the overall health of the environment. Well, that and just plain making clients smile. Kelly and his teammates have a sincere compassion, even a reverence, for plants and trees.and it shows.

Nick McAllister, Crew

It doesn't matter if he's pruning tree, grooming beds, or building rock walls or patios, Nick just loves working outside. He insists that he'd go crazy at a desk! Nick says that the best thing about his job is being appreciated for making someone's home more beautiful and more peaceful. That, and the fact that everyone he works with at Kaleidoscope gets along so well.

Jesus Moriyama, Crew Lead

Talking with Jesus, you can really sense the pride he takes in a job well done. He says he likes seeing the progress he and his team make on the job every day, especially when that hard work yields a satisfied customer.

Adam Czyzewski, Garden Team Crew Leader

After earning a B.A. in Sociology at the University of South Florida, Adam decided to pursue a career in horticulture because, as he puts it, “It’s the only job I’ve had that doesn’t feel like work!” Adam, who now makes his home in Fremont with his wife, draws particular inspiration from the Japanese style of gardening—particularly their hyper attention to detail and spiritual sense of the sublime in nature. When he’s not working his magic in our clients’ gardens, Adam may be found listening to his old record collection—he’s got a real soft spot for vintage Hawaiian music.

Our Administrative Team

George Gregory, Founder/General Manager

The passion, enthusiasm, and integrity of founder George Gregory infuse every aspect of how Kaleidoscope Landscaping does business. He sees his company as a vehicle for making a positive difference in the community through sound horticultural practices, ethical business practices and by providing a workplace that's fair, respectful, and challenging.

George began Kaleidoscope in 1983, driven by a love of being outside doing physical work and the satisfaction that, at the end of the day, he'd contributed order and beauty to his community. As the company grew, George has prided himself on the quality of his team, explaining, "They're funny, have a great work ethic, are passionate about their craft, and treat each other with respect.

In his spare time, George volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, works in his garden almost every day, and visits with his six grandkids.

Brenda Miner, Business Manager

In short, it's Brenda's job to make it all come together around here. She has a knack for finding new ways to make life easier for the crew and for helping make each job go a little bit smoother. Brenda will tell you that what she likes best about working here is the "kaleidoscope" of such different, passionate, and hard-working people.

Robert "Woody" Woods, Shop Manager

Woody loves the hands-on nature of his work. It's thanks to his hard work that the Kaleidoscope power and hand equipment stays clean and in good working order.

Cheryl Workman, Account Manager

After earning her Ornamental Horticulture Certificate and ATA Degree in Landscape Design, Cheryl ran her own landscape maintenance business for over 12 years. Today, she puts her broad experience and undimmed passion for plants and gardening to work as a liaison between our clients and our garden teams. After working on her own for so long, Cheryl says that she really enjoys the collaboration and energy of Kaleidoscope's team environment.
