Mulching Season

Quiet work that makes a lasting difference

Mulching is one of the most impactful things we do for a garden and one of the least flashy. It doesn’t bloom, it doesn’t shout for attention, and when it’s done well, it often goes unnoticed. That’s exactly the point.

Applied at the right time and in the right way, mulch protects soil, supports plant health, and sets the stage for everything that follows in the growing season.

This is foundational care. And this is the season for it.

Why We Mulch

Healthy gardens depend on healthy soil. Mulch acts as a protective layer, helping to regulate temperature, retain moisture, and reduce weed pressure before it becomes a problem.

As it breaks down, mulch feeds the soil itself, improving structure and supporting the biological activity that plants rely on. The result is a garden that performs better with less stress and fewer interventions.

Mulching is preventative care. It’s how gardens are supported quietly, before they need correction.

Our Approach

We mulch carefully and deliberately, using a nutrient-rich fertile-mulch blend suited to Pacific Northwest gardens. Every visit begins with preparation; beds are groomed, weeds addressed, and edges defined before mulch is applied.

Mulch is spread evenly at the proper depth, with care taken to keep plant crowns and trunks clear. The goal is a garden that feels settled, balanced, and ready for the season ahead.

This is hand work, done by gardeners who understand soil, plants, and timing.
